- J.
J. Cromer has been named by Kurtis Davidson as "The
Dean of Outsider Artists." Among his achievements is
the creation of the logo for Spine
Monkey Press, which is perhaps the most memorable logo
in American culture since Andy Warhol's design of the Campbell's
soup can. Believe it!
- The
Pirate's Alley Faulkner Society gave Kurtis Davidson
his first big break in November 2003 when they awarded What
the Shadow Told Me first prize in their annual literary
competition. They are wonderful people, and we hope that
they—and all of New Orleans (and the rest of Louisiana
and Mississippi and Alabama)—bounce back quickly from
Hurricane Katrina. Please support the relief and recovery
effort in any way that you can.
